I was born in Tucson, AZ and spent most of my first 30 years there before moving to NYC with my husband, Johnny, in 2010.

Comics & Writing

I have always been interested in writing and art, studying both in college at the University of Arizona. I left school before graduating, but in my early 30’s I began attending Hunter College in NYC and graduated with a Creative Writing B.A. in 2014.

I have a passion for memoir and personal narratives and became interested in comics and graphic novels around 2015. Around that time, I returned to one of my lost loves - drawing - and began combining it with my writing. I received an iPad for my 40th birthday and fell in love with digital art. I am self-taught, but have completed workshops at the Center for Cartoon Studies in White River Junction, VT (Graphic Memoir in 2017) and several courses with the Sequential Artists Workshop in Gainesville, FL (including a 6-month Graphic Novel Intensive in 2022).

Baking

I grew up cooking Lebanese food with my mom, aunties, and cousins and food has always been at the heart of our traditions. As a vegetarian, I love retooling recipes
